04 · Home & routine

The Shape of a Day.

The home's disclosure states that the provider offers activities that consider residents' preferences, and may try to provide activities that match what a resident has loved doing in the past.

English is the primary language spoken at the home. The disclosure also describes respect for each resident's ethnicity, cultural beliefs and practices.

“We stand behind understanding that each of us needs a purpose, no matter how big or small, that provides motivation and inspiration for our lives.”

05 · Specialty support

Three DSHS Specialty Designations.

The home's public DSHS record lists these specialty designations, and its disclosure states that DSHS-approved training has been completed for each.

  • Mental Health

Residential support centered around routine, communication, dignity, and everyday wellbeing.

  • Developmental Disabilities

Support that respects individual abilities, preferences, independence, and meaningful participation.

  • Dementia

A familiar residential setting with support focused on routine, comfort, communication, and individual needs.

Specialty designations reflect training for residential support. They do not describe a medical, psychiatric or therapy program, or a secured memory-care unit.

06 · Understanding fit

An Honest Conversation.

As the disclosure explains, the home may not be able to provide services beyond those it has disclosed unless needs can be met through reasonable accommodation, and it may need to consider the needs of residents already living in the home.

The simplest way to find out whether The Sun AFH 2 is the right fit is to call, visit, and talk it through with the provider.

The next step can begin with a visit.
